Kolkata, 6th March 2023: After successful tournaments in Delhi NCR and Chennai, Nissan Motor India brought its ‘Move Beyond Golf Tournament’ to Kolkata, showcasing the Global Premium SUVs X-Trail and Qashqai at The Tollygunge Club. Abhinav Apjit Bindra was a special guest, doing the tee off and presenting prizes to the winners of the one-day tournament.
The tournament, catering to over 100 customers, offered participants a day of golf and an opportunity to experience Nissan’s premium SUVs — the X-Trail and Qashqai — first unveiled in October.
Participants competed under various categories including Handicap Category Winners, Handicap Category Runner-Up, Gross Winner, Gross Runner-Up, and multiple spot prize categories such as Longest Drive, Closest to Pin, Nissan Powerful Drive Award, and Nissan Stylish Player Award.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd, said, “At Nissan Motor India, we believe in constantly enhancing the customer experience. We are thrilled to organize the Nissan Move Beyond golf tournament, a multi-city initiative designed to bring the Nissan brand experience closer to our premium customers. We are confident this event is a significant step towards building stronger relationships with them.”
Nissan aims to strengthen its presence in the Eastern India Region, which contributes 15% of its overall sales. With around 20 dealers and sales points, Nissan is expanding its network to provide seamless buying and servicing experiences. The Nissan Magnite has received an overwhelming response with 9,000 units sold in the Eastern India Region.
In October last year, Nissan showcased its premium SUVs X-Trail, Qashqai, and Juke in India and announced launch plans. The X-Trail and Qashqai are undergoing feasibility tests in Chennai to assess their suitability for the Indian market.
Nissan has confirmed that the X-Trail will be the first model introduced in India once tests conclude, available in both 5 and 7-seater options with Nissan’s innovative e-POWER drivetrain.
The Nissan Qashqai, a segment-defining model with striking design, is offered with a 1.3-liter petrol mild-hybrid engine (available in two output options) and with Nissan’s exclusive e-POWER technology.
