NISSAN INDIA WHOLESALES 8,991 VEHICLES IN DECEMBER 2022

Gurugram, 02 January 2023: Nissan Motor India announced cumulative wholesales of 8,991 units with cumulative YTD growth at 19%. For the month of December, domestic wholesales stood at 2,020 units and exports totaled 6,971 units.

Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, commented, 'The year has been challenging on the supply side, but customer interest has remained strong, especially during the festive period. Higher purchasing power is driving interest in aspirational products. We are happy to see strong customer connect and conversion for the Nissan Magnite in both domestic and export markets.'

In December, Nissan showcased its Global Premium SUVs – X-Trail, Qashqai, and Juke – at the multi-city 'Move Beyond Golf Tournament' in Delhi NCR. The first edition was flagged off from Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort in Noida, with India’s celebrated boxing champion Mary Kom as the special guest, participating in the tee-off and award ceremonies. The tournament will subsequently visit prestigious golf courses in other key markets.

The Nissan Magnite continues to be the preferred choice in India’s B-SUV segment and has registered over one lakh bookings. Launched in December 2020, the Magnite is designed in Japan and manufactured in India, reflecting Nissan India’s philosophy of 'Make-In-India, Make for the World'. It is available at a starting ex-showroom price of INR 5.97 lakh.

The Nissan Magnite is exported to over 15 countries, with the most recent launches in Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. Nissan India began exports in September 2010 and currently ships vehicles from its Renault-Nissan Automotive India Ltd. plant in Chennai to 108 countries across New Zealand, Australia, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, South-East Asia, SAARC, Sub-Saharan Africa, and other regions. In recent years, the primary export focus has shifted from Europe to Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
